Once again, the spirit of regional athletic competitiveness blazed brightly during the fifth installment of the Kwahu Mountain Marathon over the weekend. Representing Ashanti, Volta, Eastern, Greater Accra, Upper West, and North East Regions, alongside the Ghana Armed Forces, Kenya, and Benin, participants converged to showcase their prowess.

Themed “Stronger Together – Running into the Future,” the marathon covered a challenging 21-kilometer route from Nkwakwa GOIL Filling Station, winding through mountainous terrain to Obomeng, concluding at the forecourt of the Kwahu Traditional Council in Mpraeso.

Accompanied by police dispatch riders, the athletes were cheered on by spectators along the route, navigating steep inclines amidst lush greenery that provided a natural boost of energy.

Organized by the Marathon Foundation, Ghana, in partnership with the Kwahu Traditional Council and endorsed by the Ghana Athletics Association, the event also served as a captivating highlight for the countless visitors who flocked to Kwahu for the Easter festivities.
