The Ghana Armed Forces athletics team, under the leadership of James Kojo Normenyo, also known as Speedo, along with his coaching expertise, made their presence felt at the Nkwakwa for the 5th edition of the Kwahu Mountain Marathon. This event, organized by the Marathon Foundation, Ghana, in collaboration with the Kwahu Traditional Council, saw participants from various regions, including Ashanti, Volta, Eastern, Greater Accra, Upper West, and North East, as well as international contenders from Kenya and Benin.

In a display of remarkable tenacity, endurance, precision, and determination, Elizabeth Azure of the Ghana Armed Forces emerged victorious in the grueling 21-kilometer mountain marathon. Employing what can be described as “military maximum force,” Azure overcame tough competition from Colette Ayade of Benin, who claimed the second prize after a fierce battle against the Ghana Armed Forces representatives.

The event showcased not only athleticism but also camaraderie and sportsmanship among the participants, highlighting the spirit of unity fostered by such endeavors.
